Today, January 17th, 2011 is a day in which we honor a man who fought and died for a greater cause. A cause that changed many African American’s/Mixed people’s lives. He stood his ground although he was shunned, threatened and even degraded to the point of no return.  He earned the respect of people around the world. From past stories heard from my family in Alabama, he was a man of god’s grace. He was a man who fought for those who’s voices weren’t loud enough to reach above a whisper. He exclaimed his dream around the world for the benefit of people that were just like him. His memory and the struggles he endured are sometimes overlooked now a days, as well as many other great African American People.
Young African American’s are killing, slandering, etc each other just like the White people did him and slaves back in the day. People are rushing to the back of the bus when someone was arrested and thrown in a jail cell for standing her ground while sitting in the front of the bus. Its just ridiculous. Martin Luther King changed the lives of many people. He’s a man who’s memory shouldn’t be forgotten.
Rest In Paradise Martin Luther King, and from the bottom of my heart thank you for making a change.

The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy.  -MLK
